General Associations (Associations undertaking extra-curricular activities)

These are associations whose activities are not directly related to the syllabus but are highly useful to the student for the overall development of his/her personality.

A1. Samata Mandal
Underlines the importance of the ideal of human equality-social, economic and political- in the development of the country. It organizes activities that bring out the importance of equal opportunity to everyone and that benefit students belonging to the weaker sections. The Mandal conducts special coaching in English language as well as other subjects.

A2. Drama and Film Association
Makes an attempt to tap students' potential in performing arts- acting, vocal and instrumental music, dance etc. - and with this objective in mind, helps them to stage various items before the audience. It also enables students to appreciate performing arts in its various forms.

A3. Harmony Club
Undertakes activities that promote the ideal of moral education in the mind of students. It stresses the ideal of national integration through communal and cultural harmony, and imparts knowledge to the students with regard to the teachings of different religions and cultures that have benefitted  mankind as a whole. It, thus, helps students to develop a regard and respect for all religions,  communities and cultures.

A4. Mountaineering and Nature Club
Helps students to develop a love for nature and to enhance their knowledge about the nature around. It also develops among the students an awareness about the environmental issues facing the country and to enhance their knowledge about these issues. With these objectives in mind it undertakes treks, nature trips and academic activities.

A5. Vidyarthini Manch (Forum for Women Students)
Undertakes activities among the women students of the College that promote a sense of empowerment among them. It organizes seminars and workshops on women's issues and offers advice to the women students in the College as regards health and other personal matters.

A6. Book Lovers' Group
Organizes activities, especially in the form of book discussions to promote a love for books among the students. These discussions are often chaired by the authors of the books themselves.

A7. Debating Union
Organises debates and other events to promote debating skills among students. It sends them to various intercollegiate debating competitions and other events aiming at developing this skill among students.

 A8. Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)
Undertakes activities that make students aware of their entrepreneurial qualities and encourages them to start their own business. With this objective in mind, it invites successful entrepreneurs to address the students and thus facilitates students' interaction with them.  

A9. Foreign Students' Association (FOSTA)
Helps foreign students in the College to adapt to the local environment and integrate themselves into the Indian student community. It also organizes activities that help the foreign students in their academic studies in the College, particularly with regard to the practical subjects and the English language. FOSTA also undertakes activities that underline importance of international understanding and peace.

A10. Travel and Tourism Club
Organizes educational and pleasure excursions, visits, picnics and tours to various places in and around Pune and elsewhere. Focus is on acquisition of knowledge of culture, people and country through traveling and visiting various places of interest.

A11. Heritage Group
Organizes activities that promote awareness among students about importance of preserving the cultural, architectural, biological and other kinds of environmental heritage of mankind. It organizes visits and excursions to the heritage and other environmentally interesting sites and collects information.

A12. Art Lovers' Association
Encourages students to develop their skills in such artistic activities as drawing, painting, handicraft, rangoli, origami, photography, ceramics and others. The members of this association showcase their own work of art through college exhibitions as well as visit places of artistic interest. They also participate in various art competitions organized by other colleges or organizations.

A13 Placement and Career Guidance Cell
Has been established to supply students with information with regard to various avenues open to them as undergraduates and graduates. It gives publicity to information with regard to placement in various enterprises in and around Pune as and when this is available from the representatives of these organizations. In view of these objectives, it organises guest lectures of representatives of enterprises and successful professionals for the benefit of students.

A14 NWCC Students' Consumer Cooperative Society
is a students' body formed to promote awareness of importance cooperative organizations in society. It runs the Students' Corner on this cooperative basis and involves other students in the management of the store.

A15 Students' Welfare Association
has been established as per the University directives and undertakes activities to promote students' welfare in general. Samarth Bharat Abhiyan under which every College adopts a nearby village has been one of its focal activities at present.
